Cesare Alidori

Cesare Alidori was born at San Ginesio, Italy in 1941. Early in his youth his family moved to Florence where he still resides. Having lived in Florence it is not surprising he studied painting and design in his early years. At fifteen he dedicated himself exclusively to sculpture modeling in bas-relief with a specific emphasis on medals. Among his most significant works are:

bulletLe Dimore dei Medici Toscana.  A set of twenty-seven medals cast utilizing the method Pisanelliana (uniface). These medal represent the Medici family residences found in Tuscany. A complete set is to be found in the prestigious Medal Collection of the Museo Nazionale del Bargello di Firenze.
bullet108 bronze medals (uniface method) of La Divina Commedia  (Inferno, Purgatorio, Paradiso).
bulletA series dedicated to the Papal coats of arms from 1277 – 2000 AD
bullet21 busts of the Medici Family
bulletIn total, Sre. Alidori has cast more than 400 medals of which 60 are dedicated to the popes from 1400 – 2000 AD
bullet104 bas-relief panels (sculpted in gesso duro or cast  bronze) representing all 104 cantos of the La Divina Commedia.
