NOEL DEL ROSAL
BIOGRAPHY
“My favorite pictorial subject is the human form, represented both through full-length and partial figures. I am interested in exploring the body and face as expressive territories, where physical features, gestures and postures convey identity and emotion.”
Noel del Rosal is a representational painter born in Mexico in 1974, and residing in the state of Nayarit. Trained in Architecture and holding a bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts, his work reflects a strong foundation in technical draftsmanship paired with a refined artistic sensitivity. His artwork has sold in Mexico and the United States.
His paintings often depict the human figure within serene, carefully composed environments. Still life and landscape are also recurring subjects in his work.
Whether working directly from observation or carefully composing a scene from multiple references, del Rosal is committed to achieving a persuasive sense of realism. This involves closely studying and replicating the color relationships shaped by light.
“I prefer to attain convincing realism by capturing the essential tonal relationships that I perceive in my subjects, rather than by reproducing abundant detail. Accordingly, my current aim is simplification of form, with emphasis on proper values and color temperature.”
