"My work in art is a reflection of my happy process towards death".
Mexican plastic artist with a trajectory of more than 30 years in art. Born in Tijuana, Baja California, during his childhood he moved to Hermosillo, Sonora, where he had his first contact with art and, thanks to the support of a self-taught artist, Paco Racru made his first drawings. It is right there where he recognizes the world of art as his true vocation.
During his childhood, art meant in simple words of the painter "the way to create and change a little my austere reality". He liked to create from what he imagined. Because of the times he lived in, the production he made in art was ephemeral, but undoubtedly marked the beginning and some of the principles that would endure to this day in the painter's canvases.
During his youth he entered the career of plastic arts at the Instituto Cultural Cabañas in the city of Guadalajara Jalisco, to carry out his academic preparation where, for 5 years he experienced academism and classical plastic arts, he had the fortune to learn from masters of the old school, which facilitated his handling of realism, and that over time would become, along with color, in the guideline of his work.
Without the intention of broadly transmitting emotions, thoughts or complex questionings, the artist's main idea is to plastically organize images to sustain positive emotions, seeking that the viewer of his work feels calm and in total harmony when being in front of his pieces. "I did not come to the world to make religion or politics, I came to the world to try to unleash positive feelings with my work. Art is my happy process towards death, it is my total state of peace," said Paco, "To create my work is to liberate something that was asking to be liberated from the very sketch; in broad strokes, it is to give life".
Paco Racru expresses that art is not created, but is a gift that all human beings possess, considering that his creative process is based on liberating forms that, in his opinion, already exist on canvas, paper, clay or wood. Thanks to his creative work, he enjoys the freedom to experiment and the conversion of materials that give way to works that recurrently capture the human figure and a very arbitrary excess of color and spontaneity. "Art is a great game that takes place in fullness, only if you have honesty and love it."
The artist has actively participated in various exhibitions in galleries, museums and public and private institutions both in Mexico and abroad. Paco Racru is part of a delegation of international artists based in Madrid to have his first appearance on the art scene in 2010 at the Affordable art fair in Paris, France; in Open Art Fair in Utrecht Holland, as well as in the Gaudi gallery in Madrid Spain, as a result of these exhibitions begins to turn to the work of this artist and continues to exhibit mostly outside the Mexican country in the year 2013- Inlakesh, Indianapolis, USA - in a group art show; Len 2015- Salerno, Roccapiemonte ITALY; Also in that same year he exhibited his art in Buenos Aires and Bariloche, Argentina. And in 2017 he was part art shows at The chistel DeHaan Fine Art Center and Gallery, University of Indianapolis, in USA.
After this begins a long list of exhibitions within the country as have been the CDMX; Merida, Yucatan; Monterrey, Nuevo Leon; Guadalajara, Jalisco; Tepic, Nayarit; among others. In 2019 the artist participated in exhibitions in Semaines de l Amerique Latine at the Mexican Embassy in Dijon, FRANCE; and in the castle of Ancy- le Franc, FRANCE. In 2019 and 2020 the artist Art Capital FRANCE.
Currently he is still on the scene exhibiting on May 26, 2021 at the Catherine Palace in St. Petersburg; Russia; on July 8, 2021 House of Nationalities in Moscow also this year Paco Racru exhibited his work in Rome Italy (ill lab); and the most recent on January 30, 2022 at Geraldes Da Silva Gallery in Oporto Portugal.
