Diego Armando De la O
(Tomatlan 1985)
Jalisco sculptor with a solid career in the art world, has managed to combine in a playful way, the tradition of sculptural work, with international avant-garde, initially starting from the formality of the figurative, always experimenting with the shape, color, texture and technique bordering the limits of abstraction. A tireless and restless artist in his eagerness to learn first hand, the craft of sculpture, was a collaborator in a foundry workshop, in which he is still working on his pieces. He recognizes the valuable teaching-influence of his teacher and mentor Álvaro Zardoni, the sculptor Gonzalo Robledo and the actor and playwright Oscar Vincent. as well as his brothers from the Maldonado artistic foundry workshop.
His work was exhibited in gallery 1 of Puerto Vallarta, Vértice gallery in Guadalajara, has been in collective exhibitions in galeria agua fuerte, as well as in the Camino Real hotel Polanco in Mexico City and in Koi tower of Monterrey Nuevo León Currently and since 2015 his work is exhibited in the contemporary art gallery of San Miguel de Allende and in the punto G Gallery of Mexico City since 2017
In January 2020 the most numerous exhibition of the artist (about 15 pieces) was inaugurated, the one you wanted so far in the Israelite sports center.
The program "around the world" on channel 22, "this" magazine of San Miguel de Allende Guanajuato and 2 issues of the CDI gazette have published images of his work.
