LORENZO GALLIGANI
BIOGRAPHY

Lorenzo is a son of the Renaissance, born in Florence Italy. He began his artistic career as a restorer of fine furniture and sculpture. Inspired by Adolfo Wildt, a renowned, mid century sculptor, Lorenzo moved forward and dove deeply into the world of sculpture. His most important teacher was Vasco Baldi, with whom he studied for many years. Baldi was the master sculptor in charge of the restoration of the Domo in Florence for thirty-eight years.
Having the art and craft of sculpture firmly under his belt; Lorenzo looked afield for modern expressions of image. He entered into the world of film and became involved in Cinema production. This segue gave him a modern, perspective; one he has authentically married with the ancient craft of sculpture. Settled in himself and his art, Lorenzo undertook the journey of expressing his unique and personal style. In conjunction with his work as a sculptor, Lorenzo took the position of senior professor of sculpture at Accademia d’Arte located in the heart of the old town of Florence. He held this position for ten years.
Lorenzo is well known for his work as bronze and aluminum sculptor but his deep passion is to bringing Carrara marble to life. Presently he works from his studio in Florence and is visit by high caliber internationals sculptors who come to have their vision and technique refined. He sells his work internationally.
