Emilio Rama

Emilio Rama was born in Obregon City, Sonora. He is an auto didactic artist who has become an artist by participating in workshops and joint projects with other artists on an international scale, such as Patrick Peterson, Gustavo Villegas, and others.
Rama´s work projects his feelings about a consumer society, saturated with entertainment, with a sole purpose in life to live in the moment and overuse what´s given to us.
The works of this artist are not all about protest, but are instead meant to be fun, rich in texture, colors, and figures. The mixture between a true-self, and the respect needed to create delicate pieces of origami, mix with with transnational companies and mass-media characters to create his pieces.
Rama has presented his work within and outside of Mexico. he was selected in the I Bienal de arte Queretaro Santangel, as well as a beneficiary to the promotion of artistic creativity as part of the Institute of Culture and Art in the state of Queretaro. He has participated in urban art festivals such as Boarddripper and the Arte Nueve Urbano, and in fairs like the Affordable Art Fair in Mexico City.
