BIOGRAPHY
He was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco in 1961.
Although he studied at the Escuela de Artes Plásticas U. de G., he met Don Alfonso de Lara Gallardo, from whom he received a strong formative image. In San Miguel Allende, Gto. he studied lithography at the Nigromante, school dependent of the I.N.B.A., he worked in the workshop of Alfredo Zalce in Morelia, Mich, (1996) and with the master José Chávez Morado in Guanajuato, Gto.
At a very early age he discovers his artistic vocation, causing him frequent problems with his teachers because of his passion for drawing. He studies and makes advertising design combining it with his creative and artistic work, abandons this promising path and emigrates to Puerto Vallarta to face the challenges and risks of a new life depending on art, he stays 5 years to emigrate to San Miguel Allende, Gto. (1991-95) where he continues his career. He painted murals in Mexico City and Morelia, Mexico (1996-1998); Cancun. Q.R.(1998). He returns to Guadalajara beginning his abstract period, which means the first place in the Annual Hall of Young Jalisco Art 1999.
He was selected and received an honorable mention in the Cuitzmala National Contest 1988 held at the Cabañas Cultural Institute in Guadalajara. Honorable Mention in the contest "Imagen Zapopana 1982" organized by the Municipal Council of that town. First place in painting, in the annual contest of Arte Jalisco Joven 1999, held at the Art Forum, organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Government of Jalisco. The Culture Commission of the State Congress gave him a special recognition for his contribution to the cultural development of Jalisco.
He won first place in the fourth edition of the "José Atanasio Monroy" Painting Award, in the category of advanced painter. His winning work, La cancionera, earned him the 40 thousand pesos of the prize.
"Whether or not I have my own style, the future will tell. It is not something that can be achieved in a short time. I still have a lot to learn, experiment and spoil."
